Hume Highway Closure

This morning Friday 17 October at 3.00am there was an incident on the Hume Highway when a truck with Dangerous Goods on board caught fire. This resulted in the Hume Highway being closed in both directions. The vehicle involved in the accident was not connected with Star Track Express. Linehaul units travelling both ways were delayed for up to four hours while emergency fire and hazard crews dealt with the problem and cleared the highway.

As a consequence there will be some delays experienced with many units not arriving until midday today. However our Business Continuity Plans have been invoked and every effort is being made to deliver as much as possible today in both Sydney and Melbourne.
